Who is Elmer H. Franzen

How did Elmer H. Franzen Intermediate School get its name?

Elmer H. Franzen (1891 – 1978) was an active member of the community. He was a member of the Itasca Fire Department and participated in a number of community music groups. He was the President of the Itasca State Bank but is perhaps best known for being a school board member from 1933-1946. In 1964, the school board named the new elementary school to honor him for his unselfish commitment and dedication to the children of Itasca.
